Description: ¾ - 1¼ inches. Spring Peepers vary in color from shades of gray or brown to a rusty red color. There is a dark "X" on the back that makes them easy to distinguish from other small frogs.

Similar Species: Boreal Chorus Frogs are similar in size and color, but have three stripes or rows of dots down the back. Blanchard's Cricket Frogs are similar in size, but have very bumpy skin.
