Blue-spotted Salamander (Ambystoma laterale) - Endangered
Description: 4 - 5½ inches. Blue-spotted Salamanders are dark colored with light blue spots on the tail and sides of the body. There may be light colored flecking throughout body.
Similar Species: Smallmouth Salamanders have less distinct spots, and are not currently known from either county that Blue-spotted Salamanders are found in.
